Jessica Snyder is a Certified Massage Therapist, Ayurvedic Practitioner and Ayurvedic Postpartum Doula. She began her private massage and bodywork practice in NM in 2000 upon graduating from the New Mexico School of Natural Therapeutics. Her practice features many forms of professional bodywork, including deep tissue and Swedish massage, pregnancy and postpartum massage, marma chikitsa, abhyanga, shirodhara, core synchronism, polarity therapy, reflexology as well as Ayurvedic lifestyle consultations and Ayurvedic Postpartum Doula services.
In 2008 Jessica completed two years of training at the Ayurvedic Institute with Dr. Vasant Lad. During this time she also worked in the Pancha Karma department of the Ayurvedic Institute administering abhyanga , shirodhara, basti treatments, color therapy and core synchronism. Jessica recently spent four months in Nepal, studying Ayurveda, completing a clinical internship with Dr. Sarita Shrestha and assisted in offering free Ayurvedic health camps throughout the Kathmandu Valley.
She has completed hatha yoga teachers training as well as advanced studies in AyurYoga, which joins the two sister sciences of Yoga and Ayurveda. Jessica teaches yoga primarily in individual sessions.
In 2008, Jessica moved back to her home town of Ann Arbor, MI and is happy to offer her services to the community here. She is currently working to establish a medicinal herb CSA (community supported agriculture) with the generous support of Traktung Rinpoche and Wishing Tree Gardens non-profit. Her hope with this project is to offer a local, affordable grassroots approach to the herbal healthcare movement, which seems unattainable for many whom it would benefit greatly.
Jessica is deeply grateful to her greatest teacher and healer, Mother Nature. She is honored to witness Nature re-establish balance in each person she works with.
